The storm mentioned yesterday ended up to be quite spectacular in parts of South Australia. This photos was captured at Nuriootpa about 8O km. away.
While closer to home at Broadview, only a few kilometres from where we live, this tree was uprooted near Broadview Oval.
Reminds me of that wise proverb "In a storm, grass fares better than trees".

It did not look as spectacular where we are on the eastern scarp but we did get 19.5mm for which I am very grateful. The naughty wind blew big heavy orchids off their shelves and the gutters madly overflowed.

Wow! That is an awesome (in the true sense of the word) storm cloud. Hope your place survived okay. Nature is powerful.

What an amazing picture. You seem to be getting a full dose of the natural world right now. I love the quote here - definitely something to ponder. It's nice that you're writing regularly again - it's such a treat to find new stories when I visit.

You know, Texans in the U.S. pride themselves on doing everything BIG (from hair to jewelry to driving distances), but they've got nothing on you Aussies.

Stunning and frightening. I would not have wanted to be under that cloud.

The tree fall is amazing. Looks like that truck got very lucky.
