My mother-in-law bought around a friend of hers to show her "the sort of thing I do". I was quite chuffed. So....this sort of covers it...
...cave paintings, archeology....
compost, complete with worms...
A rich composted soil is one of my favourite things in life - the visitor understood completely - some can't understand the attraction at all.
Irish ancestry - from 1800's Dromcolloher, Limerick, sailing from Dublin to Adelaide, -please note 4 leaf clover shamrock-thing and red Australian soil...
other bits and pieces...
and now I'd like to do more pencil drawing this year. This was from a recent visit to the Art Gallery of South Australia, where I just sat down a sketched a wonderful sculpture.
I had fun yesterday with my visitors. We had a lovely afternoon tea - husband even joined us. I thanked them for their interest, and thank-you too for yours.
I like the term "chuffed." U.S. doesn't have such a useful word. We have proud, honored, satisfied...none of which say "chuffed." If I had something like your bits and pieces and fine compost to show visitors I would be pleased, maybe gratified but I would mostly be chuffed.
Keep going with those pencil drawings. They look great. Drawing is on my list of skills to work on this year. Not always easy to make time to focus, but I always learn so much when I do.
oh how I wish you were here in my art 'studio' right now.. I have to create an art bra for charity.. I have all the ideas in my head, a vintage bra and zilch happening.
I love how you have combined the irish and australian. wonderful!! but the blasted white cockatoo you can keep to yourself.. first of all my apple tree, then the plums & now they are feasting on the walnuts. grrrrrr !!!!
ps i understand the attraction to compost ;) xo [and guess what? we are going to Cornwall in October!! yes.. until after my birthday in January 2013!!]
59 years old,I'm an Aquarian who loves textiles, philosophy, nature in all her forms, eosteric meanderings, small creatures, large hearts, travel and a good wine.
All have been known to bump up my creative processes.
I never knock back a belly laugh, a silent prayer, or a good red wine.
So many good books, so little time.
