Like many of you, one of life's little pleasures for me is to check out the garden first thing in the morning. It's important at this time of year because the heat has been unrelenting here and the plants appreciate all the TLC they can get.
The shy pansies still peep out after being battered by the sun...
...the silver beet is not as scorched as I thought it might be from yesterdays fierce rays...
In Australia now, gardeners who have any conscience for their plants have to get out pretty much upon rising to try and beat the heat and give their plants some strength for the next unrelenting onslaught of heat.
I took the photos below because it captures the closeness and stickiness of what will be an oppressive day - you can feel it already at 7 a.m.
Also to give everyone in the Northern Hemishere a reminder of sun, heat, and barefeet outside, where temperatures most of the time here hover around 39 degrees, making going shirtless outside more comfortable....relax, husband I mean, not me...and he'll kill me for featuring these...

hahahahah!! Yes, 7.a.m. and you can tell the day is going to be a scorcher.
Back yard done, now the front. We used to have big gardens wherever we lived, which I always tended well but they were a lot of work. This is manageable.

We have the same summers here in Phoenix, hot by 7:00 a.m.!
Your plants are beautiful. I'm terrible with plants, goodness knows I've tried.
