I've lived in 20 different addresses, from one bedroom flats to farmhouses, since I left home at 18. That's a lot of packing preparation!! In that time, there have been many bathtubs I've known and loved, and some not so much.
I remember preparing baths in the Riverland where the water was without fail, the colour of milky tea or coffee because it was water straight from the River Murray.
It was all we had,no choice, and baths in Adelaide were a luxury of pristine clarity in comparison.
Over the years, my sister-in-law and myself had a series of Christmas Day photos taken in the bath-tub, don't know why, probably because we'd had a few too many drinks. The tradition continued over the years, until we found it increasingly difficult to prepare to both get into the bathtub and out of it.
Christmas 2011 found us admitting defeat - all too hard. Brittle bones and joints.
I suppose we could have managed to sit sedately (us?) on the side, but somehow -just not the same really.

Hello pretty lady and a happy new year to you. you and your sissy are so adorable.. Here's to the very very best... You deserve it.
That looks like fun! I love the term "drawing a bath" - sounds so luxurious. Maybe you can take pictures of interesting objects in the tub in Christmases Future.
I really like you artsy treatment of the first bathtub photo. Also like the "decorations" in the other two bathtub pics. Fun!
Here's to a great 2012 with thanks for water clean enough to drink and bathe in.
Hi Pam,
Oh, I love the phrase, "drawing a bath" as it immediately takes me back to my grandmother's house and her huge claw foot old tub. I was just a little girl and could practically swim in that tub. I still use the term in my mind, when I'm thinking of how wonderful a bath would feel. But, I rarely get myself into a tub lately, as it is too darn hard to get out!
Loved the photos of you and your sister. You are so obviously having a great time!
No don't ever become sedate!
Drawing a bath, I haven't heard that for a long time.
Course Prince Charles still has his bath drawn and apparently his toothpaste but on his brush.
Me, I jump in the tub, bathe in the bubbles, doze in the water and generally think after getting into bed bath is the next best place in the world!
I love those photos, and the tradition. I hope you find another equally satisfying one that honors creaky joints and fragile bones, and manages to not be sedate at all.
