Love comes in all shapes and sizes. Couldn't wait to photograph these two.I became aquainted with them on a visit to a house, where they were out in the garden aviary. They are inseparable. "Seeking to serve and not exact due service."
Full of quiet gentleness. Inseparably wholehearted, straightforward ..an absolute delight. Actually they look a little like the kitchen staff at Meals on Wheels, let's say for example the bigger Mrs. Wainwright, ..practical and stable, in charge of scones, and the little fussy Mrs Harrison always checking if there's enough peas on the boil...
"Whatever you are, be a good one" - Abraham Lincoln.
I think they have the friendship thing nailed. Hope you had a good weekend spent with those you love.

That is a beautiful drawing and one very puzzled hen with a chick looking like that. I once put pheasant eggs under a bantam hen and I don't think she ever came to terms with her offspring - if anyone approached the hen run the chicks all made for the cover of the undergrowth, not their mother's skirts.

Weaver it is actually a photograph I took and then adapted in Photoshop. It does look like a drawing which is why I liked the result - so thanks for the compliment!

Dear Pam,

I love reading stories of unusual friendship. This is a charming one to add to my collection. I really like what you did adapting it with photoshop.

Pam, that is a delightful picture, and you're right I think they definitely have the friendship thing covered. We could all learn a thing or two from them I feel :)

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your lovely comment.

Most couples are odd. Their diversity is just a little more obvious. The best friendships celebrate variety. I love the Lincoln quote.

The visitors are gone <:(--the house is a little less wild :)--we have a lot of stuff out of place but it was sure fun! :D.

I was going to comment on the 'drawing' as well....sooo cool. You should print that and frame it.
Wonderful!

I'm glad for your first two comments here, as I was going to note how much this looks like a painting--or an amazing bit of fiber art (heehee).

I love this! The picture and the thought, that when we open our hearts, all kinds of friendships can occur. That's so Aquarian of you, Pam.

I'm going to "steal" the Lincoln quote, too. Fantastic thought (he was also an Aquarian, of course.)

Yep love is what makes the world go round for certain. And there is no accounting for who we fall in love with.
Lovely post.

Birds of different subspecies will get along with one another. I had a lovebird chick and Senegal chick weaned together, and they were the best of friends.
