Do you remember when you have a powerful dream, and wish to share it? With the help of these visuals from Flickr, you'll know exactly what mine looked like. Come step into my dream. Nice to have you along. We are on a quest for this little guy...it's necessary to find him for healing for my Dad. Charlie was my Dad's dog a long time ago. This is a beautiful sequence of events that I'm slap-bang in the middle of in the early hours of this morning.I have been "sent" to retrieve Charlie. We have actually journeyed from this point-it will take a long time, a true "quest"...I am familiar with this "otherworld". I am sure you are to.. Come with me, the light is always like this...What is being revealed to us? Who knows. We simply go where we are sent, but the beauty is astounding......and here we are. Charlie is here somewhere. Thiss could very well be a long dream...we travel by intuition...Eyes watch...We continue what is going to be a very long walk in a direction somehow we know to be true...Guided and watched...We marvel at the beauty of the creatures here... There are dogs running everywhere...The word "prey" does not exist here. You cannot help think of the analogy "the lion lays down with the lamb" - no lions or lambs though in this dream... deer...rabbits...everywhere...and more curious doggies who watch our every move...To the left, many, many German Shepherds...all smiling and happy. German Shepherds as far as the eye can see...all happy and alert...All sort of creatures are here in the soft light...grazing cows... as we get closer to the river bank. We are heading over to an old stony grey house with a smoking chimney. The smell of wood-smoke is heavenly...Oh hey little fella, sitting on the marshy banks ...where did you come from? The little animals in this part of the journey are tired...so are we, and we must get back in time to wake up soon...Just as the sun rises in this beautiful land and strikes upon the eastern wall of the old stone house, we come across this little Pekinese face outside the door.
We know somehow, there will be be Pekes inside, but something tells us to tread softly...gently...we venture inside and creep amongst small sleeping forms many wrapped in soft blankets.. and unbelievably, there here is...
We almost have to "warm" his energy back - a very long time of stroking and cuddling and soothing words...
tearful and gentle...Charlie...after all this time...
His little form warms, moves...and before our very eyes our thoughts and love have made him strong...
He is as he was...as my father will be one day made young again... and his little mate will be there, guide him through his dementia. Please do not underestimate the power of animals I am told. It is time for us to go...
Back to the life I know...through the morning clouds...when we get back it will still be dark...morning black...

And all I will say, over the breakfast table is "I had the most beautiful dream, but I am exhausted - I searched on the longest of journeys for Charlie and found him", and the family nods and smiles. "Aww-lovely, they say,"can you buy more cereal when you're out today?". "I walked for miles" you say. "Gotto go, I'm late" husband replies with a kiss. But you've been with me. You know.
Thank you to those at Flickr, Katycat2008,Bob Boyd, AndyFJT, Ania Vespertine, trippleduces7 amongst others. And Thank you to Job 12:7-10 for this most beautiful and stunning biblical insight...

"But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will teach you: or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind."

This is incredible, Pam. That was NOT a dream. You took a shamanic journey to bring healing back for your dad, and yes yes you must be totally exhausted.

Wow. I could feel your love, the love of the animals in the parallel universe, and the sincere wish for guidance and healing. Dogs are good in all the worlds. How wonderful of Charlie to come back to help.

How wonderful of you to "warm" him back with pets and cuddles.

WOW! Thank you for sharing this, thank you. Take it easy today, OK? You worked hard, now you have to rest.

Bravo!!

People usually go glassy-eyed when someone starts telling their dream, but this one had my eyes brimming. Thank you for sharing it so poignantly.

Oh Pam, you have brought your sadness so beautifully to life and shown strength in your acceptance of what is being served up to you and your beloved father. The lines from Job are a perfect finish. May we have seconds?

Oh Pam, this was just so lovely. It must have taken you ages, not only to dream it,put to make this post.
Dementia is such a difficult way to come to the end of life. I hope your Dad gets to see a real dog now and again.
I loved the idea of a field full of Alsations for some reason!!

That may be the most extraordinary post I've ever seen. It was just beautiful -- thanks for inviting us in to your journey. And of course I'm going to look up the Job reference immediately, because it was stunning. Many, many thanks.

Pam, I agree with Reya that this wasn't a dream but a spiritual journey to find answers. Whenever you dream about the sky as you have found in the photos this is the beginning of a spiritual journey during your sleeping hours.

Dogs in dreams symbolize 'friends' and large dogs symbolize 'protection through a powerful friend'. With all those German Shepherds present, I found that quite interesting.

Heart touching. That's the beauty of animals and nature, they build bridges at those hard to cross emotional gaps*!*
