Now this may just be a puddle to you folks, but it's a PUDDLE here in South Australia - no wonder this farming family looks so chuffed... But then...
... just when we were celebrating puddles here in South Australia, it rained... and rained...
and rained...

blew furiously...like a jetty in half....
Holy Moley...we're just not used to this sort of thing.Photos courtesy of Flickr and Adelaide Matters. It was the wettest weekend in three years.

The wet weather has certainly moved across the parched land. In a big way.

of droughts and flooding rains.... yep Australia - we have had rain for a week or more then the past few days have been gale force winds.. broke my tamarillo tree clean in half. I could cry.

it is amazing.. some children out west have never seen rain.

Whoa. Mother Nature sure took a turn in a big way. Hope you took a moment to dance in the rain.

Wow! You folks don't do things half way! Talk about making up for lost time. Hope the weather moderates a bit so you can get back to normal. No need for ice cubes in the bird bath today.

hey pam! wow, i love this post! and the crackle paint photo looks gorgeous against your black background! as i said in my e-mail, i'm so SO happy about the rain you're getting. i can't describe it, but somehow i could *feel* the dryness there... i wanted it to rain very much so that everything would be drenched in water's life supporting goodness once more... xo

What amazing photos. Nothing like a good cleansing rain, and then some. That looks like it was needed.

OH MY GOODNESS! Pam our city was flooded today! The farmer and his two kids make a cute photo. Look at those giant tires!

I have an award for you!

Gracious! Now your art will have to morph to encompass a briefly-greener landscape...

You wait for ages and then it all comes at once - hope things are calmer now!

Interesting Australia should have downpours when southwestern Ontario had them too. Rain is a glorious thing when the land is parched.
