AdelaideNow... Steady rain falls on regional South Australia and Adelaide

It's RAINING!!! At LAST! It's big news for South Australia - tried to import the video, but can't, so if you like, you'll have to visit the link to see how much it means to this dry and dusty state... a rather long piece, but you'll get the idea - along with the concept, if you click on, that tragedy and joy in this country sit side by side with sensationalism, tacky and tragedy served up so that we can choose...ie. "asylum seekers' boat explodes" has to be discovered through the maze of Gallery Pictures, in which one cannot help but notice how green the footy fields and golf courses are, while on the blue seas, the sad tragedy of desperate lives plays out ...a land of contrasts on all fronts.

I have!...and I've been in a mad rush taking down the hanging baskets, gathering up the indoor plants -putting it all out there to soak up such glorious rain!

So glad you are getting relief from the dry weather! We wish you enough rain to soak up the drought but not to flood.

People must feel like taking all their clothes off and going out into the rain to dance! So glad it has come at last - hope it continues for a while, I am sure you need it.

Rain at last so does that mean there was along dry spell and if so did you smell the Australian petrichor that is so intense, the term itself originated in Australia by two 2 Australian scientists?

WE've been lucky in Sydney. So much rain over this month that we've had to mow 'twice'. And I haven't had to feed horses for a month thanks to lush grass in the paddock. @Ces, the petrichor is stunning, especially in summer, there's no smell like it . . .fantastic.

My mother grew up on a farm, and she said the best rain was a three day steady one: a godsend for farmers as it soaked into the ground to produce good crops. I'm hoping you get a slow, steady rainfall that moisturizes all that dry soil Australia has.

Great to have rain at last! You needed it! My daughter had also some rain in Queensland. Thanks for the visit. I hope you won't have any thunder storms. Have a great weekend!

Lovely to meet you, Pam!

I too have been rejoicing in some rain! It is so welcome! I was so enthusiastic that when I went on a school excursion yesterday, I took heaps of rainy photos through the bus windscreen!

Yay! That ridiculous rain dance I did for you must have finally kicked in!

Glad to see the drops are finally giving you some relief. Hope everything else is going well for you, my sweet friend!
